Who Are You? Identity in Christ

Who Are You? Identity in Christ

The world will try to define you. Your past will try to label you. Your failures will try to shame you. But if Jesus is who He says He is—the Son of God, the Savior of the world, the risen King—then who does that make you?

The answer is not found in what you’ve done, what others say about you, or even how you see yourself. Your identity is found in Christ.

1. You Are a Child of God

"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." — John 1:12

When you surrender to Jesus, you are no longer just a creation of God—you are adopted into His family. You are not an orphan wandering through life, trying to prove your worth. You belong to the King of kings.

Too many people live with an identity shaped by their past—rejection, pain, or abandonment. But God has given you a new name, a new inheritance, and a new identity as His child.

You are not defined by your failures.
You are not defined by your struggles.
You are not defined by your earthly family.
You are defined by your Father in Heaven.

2. You Are Forgiven and Redeemed

"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace." — Ephesians 1:7

The enemy will always try to remind you of your past, but Jesus has already declared "It is finished." Your sins are not just covered; they are removed. Your shame is not just hidden; it is erased.

Some of you are still walking as if you are in chains, even though Jesus has already set you free. If you are in Christ, you are forgiven. That means your past no longer holds power over your future.

3. You Are a New Creation

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." — 2 Corinthians 5:17

The moment you receive Christ, you are no longer the person you used to be. You are not just improved—you are transformed. The old you has died, and a new you has been born.

But here’s the challenge: Many of us keep trying to resurrect what Jesus already crucified. We keep clinging to our old identities, our old ways, and our old habits. But when Christ makes you new, He calls you to live like it.

You are not a slave to sin.
You are not bound by your past.
You are not who you used to be.
You are a new creation in Christ!

4. You Are More Than a Conqueror

"In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." — Romans 8:37

You are not just someone barely making it through life. You are more than a conqueror through Christ.

This means:

You don’t fight for victory—you fight from victory.

You don’t struggle alone—Jesus fights for you.

You don’t just survive—you thrive.

Some of you have been battling discouragement, addiction, depression, or fear, thinking you’re losing the fight. But the battle is already won. Jesus has already overcome. Now, walk in that victory.

5. You Are Called and Chosen

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." — 1 Peter 2:9

The world may have rejected you. People may have overlooked you. But God has chosen you.

You are not an accident.

You are not forgotten.

You are not unworthy.

God saw you before you were born. He set you apart for a purpose. He has called you out of darkness, not just so you can be saved, but so you can shine His light to the world.

6. You Are Sealed with the Holy Spirit

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit." — Ephesians 1:13

The Holy Spirit is God’s seal of ownership on your life. That means:

You are not abandoned.

You are not alone.

You are empowered by the very Spirit of God.

Too many Christians live as if they are weak, when they have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside them. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. Walk in that power!

7. You Are an Ambassador for Christ

"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us." — 2 Corinthians 5:20

You represent the Kingdom of Heaven. You are not just living for yourself—you are a messenger of Christ to a broken world.

In your workplace, you are an ambassador.

In your family, you are an ambassador.

In your community, you are an ambassador.

Everywhere you go, you carry the name of Jesus. The question is: Are you representing Him well?

Who Are You?

You are who God says you are.

Not what the world calls you.
Not what your past screams at you.
Not what the enemy whispers in your ear.

You are His.

Now, live like it.

No matter who, what, when where, why, how…but God. I am here and for His reason. I look around amd sometimes I’ll even have time for reflection. The word is truth. The only truth left this day as is written.
